Funny Things we tend to do when we can't fall asleep at night.

image loading...You might spend your whole day feeling tired and exhausted, looking forward to the moment your head hits the pillow.
But almost always, without fail, the moment you lie down to go to sleep, you're all of a sudden wide awake and your brain is restless and spinning, making it impossible for you to go to sleep.

And as you toss and turn, stressing as the clock gets closer and closer to that dreadful time when your alarm will go off and you still can't fall sleep, these are all the things you do. No no i'm not a ghost, its normal for me to know, atleast it happens to me too.
​ 1. Change your body position a million times until you're pretty much a pretzel. 2. Count the amount of time you'll have to sleep before your alarm goes off if you doze off RIGHT NOW. "I'll have 5 hours and 17 minutes of sleep if I fall asleep this instant."
3. Obsess over every stupid thing that happened that day.​ Like when you spilled your drink all over you at lunch at the exact moment your crush walked by. Whyyyyy?

4. Or that one stupid thing that happened when you were 8 years old.
5. Start counting sheep. And then wonder who thought this stupid trick works because it definitely doesn't.​
6. Pull out your device and start surfing the internet. Your logic is, it'll take your mind off trying to sleep and help you fall asleep naturally, but then after 20 minutes of scrolling through Twitter, you start to wonder if the Internet is the solution or the problem when it comes to your sleep deprivation.
7. Obsess nonstop over that little noise that came out of nowhere. You know the rational thing to do would be to accept that it's the pipes rattling and go to sleep, but your brain won't accept rational thought and would rather imagine it's Freddy Krueger or Chuckie come to murder you in your sleep.
8. Think about that weird fact that you learned that day for hours on end. How, how, hooooow do penguins have knees?! How?!
9. Text all your friends about the struggle being real. Nobody responds. Because they're sleeping.
10. Freak out over the epic day you're going to have tomorrow.It happens multiple times a year, from taking your Online Jamb practise to your first day of school to the home coming dance... Whatever very important day it is, you're definitely going to look like a zombie for it since you didn't get any sleep the night before.
11. Obsess over all the sleep you're not getting. You know for certain you will not be able to function tomorrow. And even though you know stressing out over the lack of sleep you're getting isn't helping, you still can't stop.
